Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a complementary therapy renowned for its ability to identify and correct energetic imbalances.

Who can benefit from a Kinesiology session?

Kinesiology is suitable for any age group, even pregnant women, tiny babies and the elderly. Babies and young children can easily and effectively be worked on by using the parent as a surrogate.

What to expect during a Kinesiology session

Firstly, you will be asked to fill in an information form detailing your past  issues and symptoms and what it is you would like help with.   I explain how kinesiology works and how it finds out the corrections needed to rebalance your body. In order that following clients after your session do not experience an allergic reaction, it is requested that you refrain from wearing any perfumes, aftershaves or strong scents for your session.

Each session usually lasts about an hour, where you lay fully clothed on a couch, in a warm and relaxing environment.  In order to address imbalances throughout the mind-body-spirit, a series of questions are then asked and your body responds in a yes/no response with muscle testing of your forearm.  This is a highly skilled technique that involves applying gentle pressure to your arm muscle and monitoring its response.

Energy blockages are removed or released by using several ways e.g. magnets placed on the body, crystals, coloured light, holding or tapping specific acupuncture points (no needles), thinking a specific thought.  These are released from the meridians and tissues of the body, allowing you to feel relaxed, lighter and more able to cope with life.  No two sessions are ever the same, each Kinesiology session is tailor-made to your own specific issues and exact requirements.  During a session my role is simple – I am a humble translator of what your body’s wisdom is telling me. You remain in control of the direction and pace of the work needed the whole time, because it is your body that is choosing what is needed to be done to support your health and well-being.

Kinesiology can detect imbalances in the body’s systems in 4 key areas:-

  • Chemical – nutrition, hormones, PH levels
  • Emotional – fears, phobias, trauma, stress
  • Structural – bones, muscles, tissues
  • Electrical – hydration, energy levels and energetic fields

What Kinesiology is best for:-

  • Increase energy and vitality
  • Prevent imbalances
  • Improve posture
  • Relieve physical discomfort and tension
  • Release and manage emotions and stress
  • Enhance brain function and co-ordination
  • Discover individual allergies and sensitivities

Previous clients comment on how relaxing their sessions are and that they feel better afterwards.   Just think how long you have been carrying these stresses or emotions around and how good it is to release them.

DO YOU FEEL STRESSED?

When you feel inflamed with anger about something, your tissues also become inflamed.

If you want to be in control of your body and health, you need to alter your state, deal with the stress and calm your body down and then your body will be free to activate the repair process.

When bodily symptoms distract you from being able to do what you want to do, it can be difficult not to feel fear or frustration.  This only leads to more stress.  Try to direct your attention towards the discomfort or symptoms, what message is that part of your body trying to tell you.  Stop doing whatever it wants you to stop doing.

Your body knows that whatever it creates, it can un-create it.

Your body and mind work as one system.  Your discomfort has some meaningful purpose.  Symptoms are messages communicated from your body.  Clearing your discomfort may involve addressing many such messages.

If a disease is named, this seems to exaggerate it.  Conditions felt are processes, not solid fixed states.  Discomfort may or may not be caused by physical problems.  Dealing with your issues with Kinesiology can relieve stress and discomfort.

Every thought you think releases different chemicals into your body.  When you are happy, relaxed, and calm, your body can function normally, digest your food, repair damaged cells, and keep everything in balance.  When you feel negative emotions:  anger, sadness, fear, guilt, etc., the body reacts by triggering the ‘Fight/Flight/Freeze’  Adrenal Stress Response.  This reaction happens instantaneously in order to prepare your body to defend itself.  It is a natural survival mechanism, but it over-reacts.  Our brain reacts to small stresses preparing us to fight or run, if this happens repeatedly and continuously, the stress builds up over time and wears down the body’s Immune System.

A person can get so used to this stressful situation, that they think it is normal.

How Stress affects your Body’s Systems

Nervous System

When stressed, the body suddenly shifts its energy resources to fighting off the perceived threat, by releasing adrenaline and cortisol.  These hormones make your heart beat faster, raise blood pressure, change the digestive process and boost glucose levels in the bloodstream.

Musculoskeletal System

Muscles tense up under stress and if contracted for extended periods can trigger tension in the body.

Respiratory System

Stress can make you breathe harder and cause rapid breathing (hyperventilation), which may bring on panic attacks in some people.

Cardiovascular System

Acute stress, such as being stuck in traffic, may cause an increase in heart rate and stronger contractions of the heart muscle.  Repeated episodes of acute stress may cause inflammation in the coronary arteries, thought to lead to heart attacks.

Endocrine System

Adrenal glands

When the body is stressed, the brain sends signals from the hypothalamus, causing the adrenal cortex to produce cortisol and the adrenal medulla to produce epinephrine, called the ‘stress hormones’.

Liver

When cortisol and epinephrine are released, the liver produces more glucose, a blood sugar that would give you the energy to ‘fight or flight’ in an emergency.

Gastrointestinal System

Esophagus

Stress may lead you to eat much more, or much less than you usually do.  If you eat more, or different foods, or increase your use of tobacco or alcohol, you may experience discomfort.

Stomach

Your stomach can react with ‘butterflies’ or even nausea or discomfort.  You may vomit if the stress is so severe.

Bowels

Stress can affect your digestion and the nutrients that your intestines absorb.  It may also affect how quickly food moves through the body.

Reproductive System

Men – when under stress they produce cortisol and if in excess this may affect their reproductive system, impairing testosterone and sperm production, and may cause impotence.

Women – too much stress may cause absent or irregular menstrual cycles or more painful periods.  It may also reduce sexual desire.

Normally the body is pretty resilient to most kinds of stress, but sometimes there can be a lowered resistance in a specific area of the body, and accumulated stress may start to target this weakened area. Often the stressful events we face today are subconsciously reminding us of old traumatic events that have happened to us in the past, and this may cause us to experience recurring stress patterns.

Kinesiology helps with rebalancing your energy system at the deepest level.  Energy corrections are really powerful and normally only need to be done once to achieve removal of a particular stress, imbalance or blockage.

During a series of Kinesiology sessions, a succession of energy corrections allow more and more stresses to be released from the energy system, allowing your body the energy and space to repair itself.

Some corrections may affect the physical body in many different ways, e.g. speed up the repair of the body, reduce pain and inflammation.  They may also help people emotionally and lead to improvements in clarity of thinking, concentration and memory.

Have you had a trauma or an accident?  If yes, then your electromagnetic field could be disturbed.

Do you have amalgam fillings in your teeth?  They could cause an electrical current, which could lead to tightness around your head, behavioural problems, unable to concentrate or think clearly.

Do you have metal joint replacements?

Does your teenager have braces fitted to their teeth?

These can be corrected very simply by using magnets around the mouth to rebalance the energy system.
